These Terms of Service govern use of MyCFIBook.com and its website membership, content, and services. Use of the website constitutes acceptance of these terms. My CFI Apps have separate terms and privacy policies.
Copyright
All content provided by MyCFIBook, including materials on MyCFIBook.com and the book titled My CFI Book, is protected under U.S. copyright laws. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of any content, including Lesson Plans, articles, and images, is strictly prohibited.
Fair Usage
The services and content provided by MyCFIBook, including materials on MyCFIBook.com and the book My CFI Book, are for personal use only. Except for the limited instructor printing permission below, use of these resources for commercial purposes is prohibited.
Documents derived from My CFI Book or other materials provided by MyCFIBook may be distributed in print format by aviation instructors under the following conditions:
- The documents may only be shared with active learners (individuals currently being trained).
- Instructors may not charge for the printing service or the documents themselves.
- The documents must be relevant to the lesson (distributing multiple chapters or unrelated content is not permitted).
Content, including but not limited to Lesson Plans, articles, and materials from My CFI Book, may not otherwise be redistributed, reproduced, repackaged, or resold.
Registration
Individuals under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the services provided by MyCFIBook. Access to services may be refused or revoked at any time without prior notice and for any reason.
Sharing Accounts
Login credentials for MyCFIBook.com and related services are intended for individual use only. Sharing credentials is prohibited. Group Sponsorships are available for organizations, instructors, schools, or groups that need access for multiple users.
Membership Renewal
Memberships can be renewed or extended via the My Account page. Renewals are not automatic; there is no need to cancel to avoid recurring billing.
Writing Participation
Users with editing access can choose whether to submit eligible customizations as contributions to the default content. The general preference is managed in Contributor Settings on the Site Settings page, with an individual contribution option available in the editor. Submitted contributions are reviewed before inclusion. Group sharing is managed separately through group access.
Account Information
Users are responsible for maintaining accurate, current, and complete account information. Updates must be made promptly when information changes.
Account Removal Requests
Open Data Removal for website content removal and account deletion options. To delete an account, sign in, enter the current website password, select the deletion confirmation checkbox, and submit the form. Deletion is permanent. Save any personal work needed before continuing. If sign-in or self-service deletion is unavailable, use the Contact form for assistance.
Account deletion removes the website membership, authored content, uploaded files, and account-associated comments other than retained order notes. Necessary order history is retained. Deletion does not issue a refund or remotely erase copies already downloaded to a device.
For group owners, account deletion also removes the owned group and its shared work. Other group members retain their own accounts.
No refund is issued for remaining membership time when an account is deleted. Read Privacy and Data for information retained after deletion and how to make a privacy request.
Rights to Suspend or Terminate
MyCFIBook reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts without notice if these terms are violated. Refunds for unused membership fees will not be provided, and any outstanding amounts will become immediately due.
Inactive Accounts and Data Removal
Accounts with expired or cancelled memberships and accounts without a membership may be subject to scheduled account cleanup after the applicable grace period, normally at least 30 days. Active access, group relationships, ownership, and safeguards against unintended deletion affect eligibility. Cleanup is not a guarantee that every account or record is deleted on a particular day. Keep copies of personal work needed. Retained records are described in Privacy and Data.
Offensive Material
Users must not transmit misleading, unlawful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable content. The determination of unacceptable material lies solely with site administrators and editors.
Site Interference
Any interference or attempted interference with MyCFIBook services, including MyCFIBook.com, is considered a serious breach of these terms. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of malicious code, unauthorized software, spyware, adware, or any other technological methods intended to disrupt or alter the platform or its content.
Accounts found engaging in such activities may be suspended or permanently terminated without notice. Legal action may be pursued in cases of significant violations, including the unauthorized blocking, modification, or manipulation of the platform or its services.
Intellectual Property Rights
By using MyCFIBook services, users agree to respect intellectual property rights, including but not limited to:
- Refraining from using text, images, or other materials protected by copyright law without proper authorization.
- Ensuring any uploaded content, including photographs, logos, or documents, has the necessary permissions or ownership rights.
- Avoiding links to external sites that promote or engage in the violation of intellectual property rights.
Users may include excerpts and images from aviation publications available in the public domain. MyCFIBook actively seeks to maintain compliance with intellectual property laws and encourages members to report any violations by providing full details through the Contact page.
Warranty
To the extent permitted by applicable law, no warranty is expressed or implied. Although every effort has been made to ensure all materials provided are accurate and complete, MyCFIBook assumes no responsibility for errors or inaccuracies.
License
Users grant MyCFIBook the right to use, publish, retain, display, and create derivative works from any content they post or share on its platform. Users represent and warrant that they have the necessary rights and permissions to grant this license.
Usage Limitations
The materials provided by MyCFIBook, including those on MyCFIBook.com and in My CFI Book, do not override any directives, procedures, or advisories issued by the FAA, NTSB, or aircraft and component manufacturers. Content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal interpretation or a substitute for flight instruction.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, MyCFIBook, its authors, and associated entities are not liable for injuries, damages, or losses arising from the use or inability to use any services or materials provided.
Laws
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively within the jurisdiction of United States courts.
