This policy explains how MyCFIBook.com handles website account information, purchases, user-provided content, support requests, and related service data.
Who We Are
MyCFIBook.com, doing business as My CFI Book, is a sole proprietorship based in McKinney, Texas. This policy covers the website. Use the Contact form for privacy questions and requests. My CFI Apps have separate privacy policies and data controls.
Personal Information Collected
MyCFIBook uses account information to provide member access, maintain content, process purchases, respond to support requests, and protect the service. Depending on the features used, this includes:
- Account and profile information, including names, usernames, email addresses, preferences, membership dates, and group associations.
- Website content, including custom Book Pages and Lesson Plans, uploads, comments, contributions, and support messages.
- Order and transaction information, including items purchased, amounts, billing details, and shipping information when applicable.
- Technical information, including IP addresses, browser information, request times, and session records. Some of these records are associated with an account.
MyCFIBook stores password hashes, not readable passwords. Authorized administrators can manage account and service information. MyCFIBook does not sell personal information. Information is shared with service providers as needed for the functions described below, or when required by law.
User Recognition
Public recognition of contributions may include a name, username, location, and contribution statistics. Use available account preferences or the Contact form to request removal of recognition.
User-Provided Content
Personal customizations to Book Pages and Lesson Plans, original content, and uploaded files are stored with account and content information. Contributions submitted for inclusion in the shared publication are reviewed and may be incorporated into the default content.
For members who use groups, content shared with a group is available to other members of that group.
Content may remain after membership expires. Retention depends on account status, content ownership, shared use, and account cleanup. Content is not guaranteed to be deleted exactly 30 days after membership expires. See Data Removal for deletion options and retained records.
Media Uploads
Uploaded images may contain embedded location information or other metadata. Review images before uploading, since anyone able to retrieve the file may be able to extract that information.
Data Transmitted for Spam Prevention
Enabled spam, security, and statistics services may process comments, form submissions, and associated IP addresses, browser details, and request information. Submitted information may include names, email addresses, and message content. Relevant provider notices include Akismet Privacy and the Jetpack Privacy Center. Provider retention is separate from the website's own records.
Payment Processing
The payment provider offered at checkout receives relevant transaction and billing information to process payments and prevent fraud. Where Stripe is used, its Privacy Policy applies. MyCFIBook retains order records.
Service Providers
Service providers process information needed for hosting, email delivery, support, and optional website tools, in addition to the payment and spam-prevention services described above. The website is hosted by HostGator. Provider processing and retention depend on the service used, its configuration, and the provider's applicable terms.
- PDF Generation: Requesting a website PDF sends the assembled document content and title to DocRaptor. This may include personalized content or other information included in the document. See DocRaptor's Privacy Policy.
- AI Writing Tools: Using enabled website AI tools sends entered or selected text, relevant instructions, and sometimes the page title to OpenAI. Account-linked usage counts administer service limits. Avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy and its API data controls.
Data Removal
Open Data Removal for website content removal and account deletion options. To delete an account, sign in, enter the current website password, select the deletion confirmation checkbox, and submit the form. Deletion is permanent. Save any personal work needed before continuing. If sign-in or self-service deletion is unavailable, use the Contact form for assistance.
Account deletion removes the website membership, authored content, uploaded files, and account-associated comments other than retained order notes. Necessary order history is retained. Deletion does not issue a refund or remotely erase copies already downloaded to a device.
For group owners, account deletion also removes the owned group and its shared work. Other group members retain their own accounts.
Order, transaction, and security records may be retained after deletion as necessary for accounting, tax, dispute handling, fraud prevention, or applicable legal requirements. Retaining an order does not retain an active login or membership. Provider records and backups may have separate retention schedules. Website deletion does not instantly erase those copies.
Accounts with expired or canceled memberships and accounts without a membership may be subject to scheduled account cleanup after the applicable grace period, normally at least 30 days. Active access, group relationships, ownership, and safeguards against unintended deletion affect eligibility. Cleanup is not a guarantee that every account or record is deleted on a particular day.
Use the Contact form to request access, correction, an export, or deletion of personal information that the account controls do not address. Control of the account or its existing email address must be verified before account-specific action. MyCFIBook will explain the request's scope, handling, and any information that must be retained.
Website account deletion and deletion of My CFI Apps data are separate actions. My CFI Apps have their own privacy policies and data controls. Copies saved on other devices are not remotely erased and must be cleared separately when needed.
Log Files
Website, hosting, and security systems may record request details for operation, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. These details may include IP addresses, browser information, request times, visited pages, and account-linked session records. Logs may contain personal information even when they do not contain a name.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Website cookies support sign-in, preferences, and shopping-cart sessions. Their duration depends on the feature and selected settings. Embedded content and enabled third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
Blocking required cookies may prevent website sign-in or checkout. Browser controls can be used to manage cookies and stored website data.
Embedded Content
Embedded content, such as videos and images, may behave as if the visitor accessed the provider's website directly. External providers may collect information, use cookies, or track interactions under their own privacy policies. Linked websites also handle information under their own policies.
Age Restrictions
MyCFIBook services are not available to individuals under 16, as stated in the Terms of Service. Use the Contact form to report an account believed to belong to an ineligible child.
