MyCFIBook.com turns Book Pages and lesson-plan material into web-based presentations. Slideshows use your current content and personal display settings, so there is no presentation file to create or separate software to install.
Opening a Slideshow
Open the Book Page or lesson plan you want to present, then select Slideshow from the page's available viewing options. The presentation opens in the web browser and can be used on a computer, tablet, or other supported web device.
Most Book Pages and lesson plans support slideshow viewing. Some reference or supplemental documents may not provide a slideshow option.
Navigating a Presentation
The arrows in the lower-right corner show the available directions. Left and right move between major sections. Up and down move through the slides within the current section. An unavailable direction is dimmed or disabled.
You can also swipe on a touch screen, use the mouse wheel, or use these keyboard controls:

Using Space is the simplest way to move through every list item and slide in presentation order. The displayed slide number helps you keep track of your position.
Presentation Toolbar
The toolbar provides buttons for the main presentation tools:
- Speaker Notes: Opens Speaker View in a separate browser window.
- Drawing Board: Opens the selected Whiteboard or Chalkboard. This button is not shown when the Drawing Board setting is Off.
- Fullscreen: Expands the presentation to the available screen and exits fullscreen when selected again.
Slideshow Settings
Open My Account > Site Settings to choose how slideshows are displayed for your account. These are personal display settings: changing them does not edit Book Pages, lesson plans, or another user's preferences.

| Slideshow Content | All Content includes all supported presentation content. The other choices limit slides to Only Headings, Only Headings and Images, or Only Headings, Images, and Links. Use a limited option when you want the presentation to act more like a visual outline. |
| Slideshow Lists | Display one item at a time reveals list items as you advance. Display all items at once shows the complete list when the slide opens. |
| Slideshow Heading Display | Enable repeats the most recent section heading at the bottom of continuation slides. Disable leaves continuation slides without that added heading. |
If you have not changed these settings, slideshows use the Sky theme, Whiteboard, all supported content, one-at-a-time list items, and no continuation heading.
Using the Drawing Tools
When Whiteboard or Chalkboard is enabled, select the Drawing Board button or press B to open a separate board. Press C to draw transparently over the current slide instead.
- Draw with the primary mouse button or a touch gesture.
- Use the palette to choose a drawing color or the eraser.
- Use the middle or secondary mouse button as an eraser.
- Use the board arrows to move between additional board pages.
- Press Delete to clear the active slide or board page.
- Press Backspace to clear all stored drawings after confirming the request.
Speaker View and Notes
Select the Speaker Notes toolbar button or press S to open Speaker View in a separate browser window. Allow popups for MyCFIBook.com if the window does not open.
Speaker View is especially useful with two displays. It provides the current slide, a preview of the next slide, speaker notes, elapsed time, the current time, and presentation timing controls while the audience sees only the slideshow.
Supporting material formatted as Notes, References, or Examples can appear in Speaker View instead of on the audience's slide. The available notes depend on the source content and the Slideshow Content setting.
How Slideshow Content Is Created
Book Page Slideshows
A Book Page slideshow uses the current version of that page. If you have editing access and customized the page, the slideshow uses the customization that is active for you or your group.
Lesson Plan Slideshows
A lesson plan slideshow uses the Book Page material selected in the lesson's outline. It follows the current lesson-element selection and order, along with applicable Book Page customizations.
The lesson plan's administrative sections (such as Introduction, Objectives, and Completion Standards) are not shown as presentation slides. Keep the lesson plan open or use a printed or PDF copy when you need those sections while presenting.
Preparing for a Presentation
- Open the slideshow before the presentation and confirm that its content and images have loaded.
- Test fullscreen, Speaker View, and the Drawing Board on the device you will use.
- If using two displays, confirm which screen the audience will see before beginning.
- Keep a lesson plan available separately when presenting a lesson-plan slideshow.
Internet and Offline Use
Slideshows are web-based and require an internet connection to open and load reliably. An already-open presentation may continue to navigate if its required content has loaded, but embedded media, external resources, or refreshed pages may still require a connection.
MyCFIBook.com does not provide a separate offline slideshow export. For an important presentation, use a stable connection and open and test the slideshow in advance.
