Lesson plan outlines now include a more detailed list of headings extracted directly from book pages. These enhancements make it easier for instructors to teach from a single outline. They’re a great aid to keep track of your progress when conducting ground training and presenting slideshows.
Headings and Expanded Elements
This update improves organization by incorporating more levels of hierarchical headings (h1, h2, and h3) alongside bolded phrases, referred to as expanded elements.
- Headings are structured to reflect the book content, breaking lessons into sections and subsections.
- Expanded elements are bold words followed by a colon (e.g., Key Points: or Objectives:) and are included when no additional heading levels exist, ensuring essential details are captured.
Configurable Display Options
The expanded outline can be shown or hidden in the menu bar of the lesson plan page, giving you the flexibility to instantly customize the display. The default option (shown or hidden) is configurable in your user profile, allowing you to set the default experience to your preferences.
PDF Integration
PDFs can include these expanded outlines. This feature is configurable in your user profile and separate from the setting for the website.
Understanding the Lesson Outline Sorting Features
Items in the lesson outline can be sorted on the fly using drag-and-drop functionality. This allows you to adjust the order of your lesson without needing to edit the lesson itself. This custom sort order will be used in slideshows, PDFs, and when viewing lessons on the web.
